Anmol Hajraw, Registered Psychologist
Hi! Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
What I love about the work I do is being invited into the deeply human parts of people's live - their pain, their healing, and their strength. Its a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they navigate the hard moments and discover their capacity for growth and healing. I feel honoured to witness both the struggles and the celebrations - the big wins, and the quiet ones in between.
Because therapy is deeply personal, it makes sense that you’d want to know who you might be working with. Here’s a glimpse into who I am, professionally and personally.
I completed my Undergraduate, Master's, and clinical training in Calgary. I am a Registered Psychologist with the Alberta College of Psychologists. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Neurodivergent clients (Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD), children and adults from immigrant families, and individuals navigating relationship or cultural challenges.
I have over 8 years of experience working within the Autism community in a variety of roles, and I’ve also been actively involved in the South Asian community through both professional and advocacy work for several years. These experiences have shaped how I approach therapy and support.
Currently, I split my work between the non-profit sector and my private practice - both are equally important to me and allow me to engage with my communities in meaningful ways.
I work from an integrated approach with a foundation in Client-Centered Therapy. My approach is strength-based and collaborative.
I believe that my clients are capable of making courageous changes in a supportive environment. It is my role to create an environment where my clients feel secure, genuinely accepted and supported.
Additionally, there are specific therapeutic techniques that I integrate into my practice to support my client’s goals. I make it a priority to keep learning and growing through ongoing training, so I can bring evidence-based therapies into my practice and provide care that’s both effective and tailored to each person I work with.
Narrative Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
The Gottman Method (Couples Therapy)
I’d like to stay that I'm a 1.5 generation immigrant - born in Punjab, India, and moved to Calgary at the age of 10 - so I’ve spent a lifetime juggling cultures, expectations, and figuring out where I fit in. Along the way, I’ve navigated anxiety, learned to honor my emotions, and untangled my people-pleasing tendencies. These lessons shape how I show up in all aspects of my life: with curiosity, openness, and a little humor.
Outside of my work, I’m often found spending time with my friends and family, listening to Punjabi and Bollywood music that makes me feel both nostalgic and alive, or trying out new cafés and restaurants (because food really is a kind of therapy too). I also love to travel and explore new places whenever I can.
I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re the first in your family or community to do it. It can also feel intimidating if you are a Neurodivergent individual looking for a therapist who "gets it." My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and respected for who you are.
If you’re curious about starting this journey, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you. Feel free to use the "Book an Appointment" feature on this website to schedule your first appointment or call me at 403-560-0997. I look forward to hearing from you.
Warmly,
Anmol
